With long hair and a bang, the classic bow and an unexpected camera in the hands, it’s the first time Hello Kitty gets a model makeover. It’s Helena Christensen, the supermodel half Danish and half Peruvian from 90s, the inspiring face for the little change.

It happens for a charity project: the new Hello Kitty’s t-shirt decorated with Swarovski elements was designed by Christensen for Oxam, and it can be found on sale at Coin as part of the Women’s Circle for Change. “I was so happy to know we would have used Hello Kitty image, I couldn’t believe it. I have been a fan of it since I was a child, and I feel like a child when I go to visit Kittyland”.

Helena Christensen is global ambassador for Oxfam since 2010, she fights with them against climate change and she has reported herself with her camera the conditions of those who suffer more of this climate revolution. “I was a photographer before becoming a model” – she says – “now I do half and half and this really fulfills me”.

Some of the pictures she has taven travelling in Perù where on show at the occasion of the launch of the limited edition t-shirt that has been a moment as well to remind people how much the female gender is still discriminated.
