Kate Moss goes to auction

She will be at Christies the next September the 25th. Not Kate Moss in person but the conspicuous production of art works based on her character.

Moss made her breakthrough in the early 90s despite the fact she was only 1,68 m tall when all the supermodels of the time were standing much higher with their flexuous body. Instead Moss was the androgynous type that soon became a standard for the decade and the ongoing beauty revolution based on a criticism of the excess of the 80s.

Eventually, she became a sort of myth of that era and she manage not to go out of fashion even after that. The auction Kate Moss, The Collection will feature a series of shots of the British model – curated by dealer and photographer Gert Elfering – including Annie Liebovitz, Craig McDean, Irving Penn, Mario Sorrenti, Sam Taylor-Wood, Juergen Teller and Mario Testino. But there won’t be only photos, a Chuck Close’s marvelous tapestry or a collage by Sir Peter Blake and a sculpture portraying Kate Moss with angel wings will be part of it.

So many artists for one unique girl.
