THE FULL SKIRT

The full skirt

Spring-Summer forecasted already the new trend that will blow into a must have next Fall-Winter season.

How not to give in to the nostalgic charm of a skirt wide and long, which creates choreographic movements every step you take a makes you feel so… woman? The full skirt – we could say- was invented by Christian Dior as part of the famous New Look.

A skirt so sumptuous that required many meteres of cloth was certainly a slap in the face to the austerity of the war: with a narrow waist and stilettos this was the typical delicate silhouette that looked like a flower.

A very classic item wich could be very modern, by the way, just have a look at the shows to see how the romantic skirt can get an attitude in the sweet collections of Rochas or Antonio Marras, and a fabulous twist in Prada, Lanvin, Dolce & Gabbana, Aquilano Rimondi and MSGM.

The length is ranging from slightly above the knee to become midi (about mid-calf) and it’s to be chosen in heavy fabrics for structured layout for the day, combined with sweaters, shirts and just very few suitable accessories like a little belt and a bag to complete the outfit.

For the night choose a version in shining fabrics adding and some sober jewelry to go with, the very small pieces will contrast with the richness of the skirt for a truly chic effect.
And of course do not forget your classic pumps to make the outfit close to perfection.
