Trendy prints

Once upon a time, in the 90s, there was a myth called minimalism. The fashion shows were all black and white, and no print was on sight most of the times.

Today there has been a sort of inversion, at least for what concerns patterns and prints for the Spring Summer in the collections of quite young but already celebrated brands like Proenza Schouler or the Italian MSGM, but of course also at Kenzo, the French brand under the creative direction of Opening Ceremony’s couple from 2011.

The new print are bold, big and can be spot from far, they have a pop attitude and come in bright colors but they are often ispired by nature, like new forms of animalier.

If Miuccia Prada’s fashion is often a forecast itself for what is going on in the wider scenario, the set of S/S 2014 menswear was already telling with a display of boards showing pieces of landscapes, the same that then were seen on the items worn by the models: an explosion of prints inspired by nature. Also for the resort womenswear.

And here we are again: prints are back.
